Best jQuery Plugins for 2010

jQuery has remarkably made its name through this year. It’s pretty difficult to pick our favorite from these plugins since all of them does a great job. But with all those stuffs used, it’s not impossible for us to remember a single or maybe a couple of plugins that has been a great help for us. So each one of us does have personal favorite jQuery plugins. For me, these jQuery plugins that are listed here are my favorites not only because I simply like them, but they have a great purpose that makes them stand out from others.


1. Nivo

A slider with smooth and has 9 prebuilt transition effects. It also supports images linking and keyboard navigation.

2. Lettering.js

A lightweight and very easy to use jQuery plugin for Typography designs.

3. Colortip

This will convert the title attributes of every elements within your page converting them into a colorful tooltips. There are six color of themes available.

4. Masonry

This is a layout plugin of jQuery. Consider it as a flip side of CSS floats. Masonry will arrange elements vertically or horizontally depends on a grid.

5. jQuery Image Scale Carousel

When you work online with imagery, keeping the image’s aspect ratio is as important as anything else. A nice part of this jQuery plugin is you don’t have to worry about all of the images being perfect fit for this slider. jQuery image Scale Carousel will do the image scaling job for you.

6. YoxView

This is a free Lightbox-type media and image viewer. It has many features and very easy to use. You can even use it to display variety of media, such as: images, video and much more.

7. Quicksand

This will reorder and filter items using a nice shuffling animation. Just specify source container and destination collection which will replace the course collection. The new elements will make appearnace with scaling and alpha effects, non-existant elements will scale out and the rearrange items will move to their destination positions.

This uses Google Charts in creating interactive visualization by the use of HTML table tag. It’s easy to use and it’ll allow you to create five types charts.
